| According to the
'Memphis Recording Service' the date of this demo session can be August 22
1953. Lee Cotten has managed to come up with a probable date for this
session by matching the story of a hot summer Saturday afternoon with a
salary advance that Elvis received on July 14 in order to "make a car
payment" for a car that had already been paid for. (All Shook Up,
Popular Culture, Ink., 1985) 'That's When Your Heartaches Begin' ends
(with the words 'That's the end') just after what would normally have
been a midsong recitation, although it's not clear whether this was
intensional. |
