Sri Yukteswar Giri
Born May 10 1855 died  March 9 1936 Born as Priya Nath Karar, was the guru of Yogananda. He was a Vedic astrologer,
or jyotishi, a yogi and an exponent of the Bhagavad Gita.

Swami Sri Yukteswar was given the task by Mahavatar Babaji, to write a book showing the parallel truths of the Hindu and Christian scriptures. This amazing book shows the basic unity of these two great religions thus helping us to understand the underlying universal truths found in all religions. Sri Yukteswar is known as a Gyanavatar, and truly in this book we see his great wisdom.
